Left school to become Student Stage Manager
at 'Watford Palace' Theatre.
1970
Student Stage Manager at the Royal Court Theatre London  
working on Chekov's 'Uncle Vanya' starring Paul Schofield. as Vanya.
Stage Manager of The Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court.
Worked on original production of AC/DC by Heathcote Williams.
1970-73
Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
winning only award for final year students.
April 1973
Began acting career in Television playing the lead in Armchair
Theatre play 'Beyond our Means', about a boy who had a
brain tumor, for Thames TV. Did sixteen more productions for
television in the following 18 months including Octavius Ceasar
in the award winning 'Heil Caesar', 'Vienna 1900' opposite
Robert Stephens and Lyn Redgrave and the Psychiatrist opposite
Warren Mitchell in the Play for Today 'Moss' (at the age of 22) all for the BBC.
Plus an unlikely guest lead in 'Coronation Street' for Granada.
1974
Made first stage appearance in the 'Dame of Sark' opposite
Celia Johnson and Tony Britton at Wyndhams Theatre in the West End of London.
Nominated for Plays and Players 'Most Promising Newcomer' Award.
1975
Returned to Television. Parts included guest lead in 'Public Eye' for
Thames, Charlie Sloane in 'Anne of Avonlea' for the BBC. 'Thriller' for
ITC opposite Patrick MacNee, Joanna Pettit and Max Wall. Also played
the Prince in 'Sleeping Beauty' for Jackanory Playhouse for the BBC.
1976
Played lead opposite June Ritchie in 'The Cuckoo Calls' for LWT
Played Lt Peter Cole in 'A Bridge Too Far' opposite Sean Connery.
1977-79
Played Lt Sulivan in the award winning BBC series 'The Voyage of
Charles Darwin', filming on location in the Andes and Tierra Del
Fuego. Played Sandy Hardcastle in the YTV serial 'Flambards' and
the lead in the classic serial 'Huntingtower' for BBC Scotland.
Played Lt Mallory in the 'School Mistress' opposite
Patricia  Routledge at the Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester.
Played Mr Wickham in 'Pride and Prejudice' for the BBC.
1980-81
Joined the RSC appearing in Shakespeares's 'Romeo and Juliet'
'Timon of Athens', 'Richard III' and Edward Bond's 'The Fool'.
1982
Made a War film in the war zone in Iraq playing Lt Young in
'The Great Question'! Fulfilled a personal ambition and told
a story for 'Jackanory'.
1983
Played lead in TV film 'Seaton's Aunt' opposite Mary Morris
for Granada and was persuaded by them to play
the Duke of Windsor in their hit comedy series 'Brass'.
1984
Appeared opposite Dirk Benedict and Jenny Seagrove in
Hammer Horror TV film 'The Mark of the Devil' and guested in
'Bulman' opposite Don Henderson and Siobhan Redmond.
1985
Played Prince Hugo in 'The Prattling Princess' opposite Patsy Kensit
and Colin Blakely for BBC's Jackanory Playhouse. Guested in
'Connie' starring Stephanie Beecham. Appeared in Sidney Sheldon's
'If Tomorrow Comes' opposite Tom Berenger.
1986
Appeared in the Mini Series 'Queenie' and the feature film
'A Christmas Carol' opposite Lucy Gutteridge and George C. Scott.
Began doing voice-overs for commercials and documentaries.
1987
Toured England, Wales and Pakistan playing the leading part of
Captain Bluntchli in 'Arms and the Man' by George Bernard Shaw.
1988
Played Douglas Gold in 'Triangle at Rhodes' in the series 'Poirot'.
opposite David Suchet, Annie Lambert and Angela Down for LWT.
1989
Played leading character of the 'News Producer' in TV film
'Making News' for Thames Television. During research met
John O'Loan, then Head of SKY News. Was asked by him to develop
the 'Presentation Skills' of thirty Newscasters and Journalists
for 'Sky News'.
1990
Directed Alexei Arbusov's stage play 'The Promise' in London
with Helen Baxendale, Clive Hayward and Brian Mitchell.
Sept 92
Became Personal Communications Advisor to Diana, Princess of Wales.
1994
Commissioned to write Just Talk to Me...  From Private Voice to Public Speaker.  
Adapted the Russian play 'Dostoyevsky's Women' by Edvard Radzinsky.
June 95
'Just Talk to Me...'. published in the UK by Thorsons at HarperCollins.
Guested on more than thirty Radio and TV programs.
1997
Appeared on stage in three hander 'The Business of Murder' by Richard Harris.
